Another vagrant appeared at Penampang paddy field after Pied Avocet in Tuaran. It was by coincidence were looking for the Blue-tailed Bee Eater seen by Winston the day before, failed to locate the Bee Eater, this pretty looking juvenile as seen hoping on the ground looking for food at the Lady's Finger Ocra orchard.
Common winter visitor to Hong Kong and similar fate like the Pied Avocet. Check my posting below. 1st record for Sabah and probably Borneo :)

Excellent, Sifu!
Superb find and shots! Sure not escapee ka..? Hehehe..
Hahaha Mamuin it is really strange why birders from West Malaysia always assumed any vagrants found in Sabah is escapee ?
For your info, pet trading in my place is very small compared with West Malaysia and Singapore and mostly of non-migrating species such as Parrot and Parakeet.
Just kidding Jason! I always envy with what u guys have there, lots of rarities. Yup here we have lots of escapees especially in Penang...huhu!
